Does Your Child Struggle With...

  • Hitting and Aggressive Behaviour

  • Depression, Anxiety, and Negative Thoughts

  • Defiance and Opposition

  • Frequent and Intense Tantrums or Meltdowns

  • Huge Reactions to Little Things

Raising Kids with Big, Baffling Behaviours: The Parent Course will help you understand the meaning behind your child's behaviour and give you the skills to support them.

Regulate and Connect

12 weeks to begin transforming the relationship with your child

Regulation

Behavior is just a clue. What we see outside gives us information about what is happening inside.

Connection

We all need connection to survive. If a child behaves in a way that makes you not want to be connected with them, we can get curious and ask ourselves, "why?".

Safety

Regulated, connected kids who feel safe, and behave well. When we don't know what to do, safety is the intervention.

I know what it's like to feel frustrated and at a loss to help a child.

It wasn't long ago that I was where you are now, both as a mom and professional and I know what it feels like to want change.

But you're not alone.

I've worked with parents and professionals facing similar challenges, assisting them in making a real difference in their children's lives.

Course Sections

Section 1: How to Become the Expert in Your Child’s Behaviours

Using the science of being relationally, socially, and behaviourally human, this section will demystify the most baffling behaviours. You’ll change how you see and interpret your child’s behaviour. That change will become the most powerful tool in your parenting toolbox.

Section 2: Now, Let’s “Fix” Those Behaviours

Your parenting toolbox will be packed with brain, body, and sensory strategies — that have been proven to work.

These techniques will strengthen your child’s nervous system and decrease baffling behaviours. By the end of this section, you’ll know what interventions to use and when.

Section 3: Why Knowing Isn’t Even Half the Battle

You aren’t a bad parent, so what happens between learning new parenting skills and actually using those new parenting skills? Section 3 will grow your tolerance for baffling behaviours so you can parent the way that you want to.

Transformations

"This program with Adrianne has been a transformative experience for me as a parent. "

I now truly realize that my children's experiences and perspectives will differ from mine, and that's okay. However, it wasn't until I did this program with Adrianne that this understanding truly crystallized.

As my children grew, making sense of their behaviours has often been challenging. I've gained a new perspective – seeing my child's actions as a way of seeking connection or feeling disconnected. This shift in mindset has allowed me to approach myself and parenting my kids with more humility, compassion and understanding that I didn't fully embody before.

I've always had an intuitive sense of my child's needs; this program has validated that knowledge. I now more confidently navigate parenting, armed with the new tools and insights provided. It's not just a course; it's a new lens through which I view my and my child's worlds – a lens that has brought us closer together.

Thank you, Adrianne, for guiding me on this incredible journey of connection and understanding. I am truly grateful for your positive impact on my parenting and my relationship with my child.

What do I get in The Parent Course?

Section 1: How to Become the Expert in Your Child's Behaviour

What you see... isn't what you get!

Get ready to challenge your core beliefs about what it means to be human.

Regulated, Connected Kids who Feel Safe (and know what to do) Behave Well

We will break down the tenet: Regulated, Connected Kids who Feel Safe (and know what to do) Behave Well by looking at Felt-Safety, Connection and regulation.

A New Lens on Behaviour

Now, let’s take everything from modules 1 and 2 and synthesize it all together to help us develop a brand new lens on behaviour. By the time this module is finished, we’ll have our X-ray visions solidly in place. In module 4, we’ll start using their x-ray vision goggles to really get to know our child’s….. Owls, Possums & Watchdogs!

Section 2: Now Let's Fix Those Behaviours!

Getting to Know the Owl, Watchdog, & Possum Brain

In this module, we’ll learn the cues and clues of the owl, watchdog, and possum brain. If we want to use the right tool for the right behaviour, we have to get a good idea of the level of arousal underneath the behaviour.

Growing the Owl Brain with Felt-Safety

Although it makes sense that we usually want to start learning how to calm the watchdog and possum brain, we will be more successful and more bang for our buck if we start growing the owl brain.  In this module, we are going to focus on offering felt-safety.

Growing the Owl Brain with Connection & Co-Regulation

We will continue to look at ways to grow the owl brain.  We got specific with strategies for felt safety in the last module; in this module, we’ll look at strategies for connection and co-regulation.

Strategies to Calm the Watchdog Brain

This module will give you specific strategies to use with your child at different levels of the watchdog brain.

Strategies for Calm the Possum Brain

This module will offer you strategies to support your child when they start to activate their possum pathway.

What to Do When the Owl Brain Returns

OK! So, we’ve learned all sorts of ways to connect with and regulate the watchdog and possum brain.

Section 3: Why Knowing Isn't Even Half the Battle

How You Can Know What to Do and Still Not Do It?

Let’s start with How you Can Know What to do but still not do it. BUT before we jump into the how, let’s get clear about the why.

Growing Your Window of Stress Tolerance

If you want to hang on to your owl brain and stay more regulated even when your child is NOT, it’ll be essential to grow your window of stress tolerance and strengthen your owl brain- just like we worked to strengthen your child’s owl brain.

4 Steps to Not Flip Your Lid

This module focuses on reflection, observation, and integration while emphasizing non-judgmental awareness of personal experiences.

The 3 core tenets of Being With: A Course for Parents of Kids with Big, Baffling Behaviours:

Behaviour is just a clue.

It’s what we see on the outside that gives us some information about what might be happening on the inside.

We all need connection to survive.

If your child is behaving in a way that makes us not want to be connected to them, we can pause and ask “What’s up with that?”

Regulated, connected kids who feel safe behave well.

To change children’s behaviours, we will look for ways to increase regulation, connection, and felt-safety.
